Melanie Spinks is the senior designer of Spinks Creative. She has a Masters of Fine Art degree from Georgia State University-Atlanta and has worked in the field of graphic design since 1997. Spinks started out as a conceptual artist and museum arts preparator exploring methods of visual communication. In the late 90's she became intriqued with the potential of new computer technologies as a medium for expression and moved into the field to explore the digital arts more fully. She began work as a web designer and special effects artist with Kor Media in Atlanta, GA and since that time has worked in a variety of print, video, and internet venues. She has worked on products for clients such as Coca-Cola, CNN, Arby's, Nascar, FAO Schwartz, Turner Broadcasting, and various recording artists. She also enjoys developing the passion and potential in others and has taught at Georgia State University Atlanta, Charleston Southern University, and the Gibbes Museum Studio in Charleston.
Melanie also enjoys ideas and aesthetic exploration. In 2007 she completed the Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Foci included visual representation in Scripture and the spiritual in the arts of Israel and the Ancient Near East. Studies also examined theological views of art and aesthetics throughout history. Spinks is working to bring spiritual renewal and ethical responsibility back to the discipline.
